Lohrist (born Tata Lohrist Berinyuy, August 15, 2000) is a Cameroonian Afro-pop musician. Born in Bamenda, she is the second daughter and fourth child in a family of nine. Prior to pursuing her musical career, Lohrist obtained a qualification as a State Registered Nurse. However, her passion for music, nurtured since childhood, led her to explore her creative talents.
Lohrist’s musical journey began with a deep appreciation for Cameroonian artists, which later evolved into a strong affinity for Afro-pop. During her teenage years, she started developing her songwriting skills by adapting and crafting her own versions of existing songs. This foundational experience laid the groundwork for her future endeavors in original music creation.
In 2022, Lohrist’s musical aspirations gained further momentum when she joined the inaugural batch of Lionz Academy. This experience significantly boosted her confidence and provided the impetus to establish her presence on social media platforms. Since then, she has actively shared her original musical creations, marking the beginning of her professional pursuit of a career in Afro-pop music.
